About Me
Hi, my name is Nico and I'm an English teacher from Portland, Oregon, USA. I am a certified TEFL teacher with over three years experience helping students both with conversational American English as well as academic and professional writing for English language learners. I have a neutral American accent and years of experience writing and grading academic papers at the university level.
I'm also a language learner myself. Even though I love it, I know how frustrating it can be to learn a language as an adult. I've felt the struggle myself so I know how it feels and I know what actually helps.
Lessons
I tailor each lesson to your goals and interests, usually starting with a quick review of the previous lesson and a clear focus for that class. After class I can send a summary, notes, resources for further study, and assign homework. Over the years I've built a solid collection of materials covering grammar, pronunciation, and readings, vocabulary, and phrases by topic.
Most importantly, I want you to feel safe making mistakes in class. That's how we learn languages. Every lesson should feel rewarding, empowering and, like time well spent. If it sounds like we could be a good fit, feel free to send me a message or book a trial class. I hope to see you there!
